Remedy Plan New Hire

We are very pleased to introduce Adam Lynch, our new research technician and the latest addition to the Remedy Plan team. With his experience in tumor immunology and pharmacology, Adam will help accelerate Remedy Plan’s drug discovery efforts. He is already hard at work at the Harvard ICCB-L Lab conducting large-scale drug screens. Here is Adam, in his own words, describing his background and motivation for dedicating his career to research and drug discovery:

My interest in science has always intertwined with the question of how research & technology translate into medical discoveries. I saw the crippling effects of healthcare systems that are deprived of funding for medical research and basic resources at an early age, upon visitation of my mother’s home country of Mauritius. This experience has served as a motivating force to pursue a career in research.

My scientific career started as an undergraduate research student at Longwood University. I spent two years as a research assistant in lab that focused on a potential immunotherapy to target specific cancer cell populations (e.g. melanoma, lymphoma, and leukemia), specifically by using CAR T cells (Chimeric antigen receptors) that expressed a genetically engineered PD-1 receptor (program death-1). I went on to receive my M.S. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania studying the effects of antihistaminergic compounds on metabolic phenotypes.

I am passionate about research & discovery that is both creative and inspiring. Remedy Plan has a vision of discovering and developing non-toxic drugs that specifically target metastatic properties of cancer using cancer stem-cell therapeutic technologies. I believe that cancer has rooted itself in our culture; we are still utilizing ineffective treatments such as chemotherapy while continuously identifying cancer-causing reagents. To this end it’s time for change. I am excited to be a part of Remedy Plan and help accelerate drug discovery efforts.

Remedy Plan fosters a culture that values the input and ideas of each individual while promoting mentorship. Greg and Dennise are both incredible scientists and mentors; it is a joy working with such positive people who are constantly fostering my growth as a scientist and instilling me with confidence to be successful in my role at Remedy Plan. I take a lot of pride in being a part of a team that is dedicated to solving one of the biggest challenges of our time.
