Update:
After only 24 hours we have raised over $14,000, been featured on the Indiegogo homepage, and claimed the #1 spot in the Health Category!
We are astonished and humbled by the tremendous support and kind words we have received so far. It is incredibly gratifying to know so many of you believe in our mission and our team. Thank you so much, from the whole team at Remedy Plan.
Launched!
After a lot of hard work and numerous hands pitching in, our crowdfunding campaign has officially launched!
Please check it out at fund.remedyplan.com. We’re incredibly proud of our campaign video, which communicates just how big we think this idea is, and just how big our hope is for changing the way we treat cancer.
“We are turning to crowdfunding to help launch us from the big idea phase to the drug candidate phase,” said Greg Crimmins, CEO and co-founder of Remedy Plan.
“Even though we have developed the technology to screen drugs for their application to cancer containment, we are still in an early stage where it’s difficult and slow to get grants or investors. It’s an unfortunate effect of our academic and federal grant process that a lot of great ideas never make it past this stage.”
Remedy Plan is looking for help from people like you to ensure this big idea moves into drug development phases. You may know from our earlier post on Our Progress So Far, that we have discovered several promising drug candidates in preliminary experiments. Our next step is to secure funding to identify and pursue a lead candidate that can advance to clinical trials. We have a long haul ahead of us still, but we’re thrilled to have taken a big step today.
Here’s the breakdown of the research we’re able to conduct at various funding levels:
Remedy Plan’s goal is to raise enough funding to move through the next stage of research and focus full-time on research in the lab. We aim to have over 100 drug candidates that are worth further investigation before testing these more vigorously in the lab for effectiveness and toxicity. With results on promising drug candidates in hand, future funds to continue the drug screens could then come from grants or investments from venture capital.
The crowdfunding campaign only runs through November 6, so please help us spread the word soon and often! You can forward our campaign directly on to family and friends, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter to share our posts with your community.
Thank you for your support— we truly couldn’t do this without you!
