Paying It Forward

Custom postcards designed by illustrator Carolyn Sewell for Remedy Plan backers

Usually a crowdfunding campaign involves some kind of product and when you contribute money to the campaign you get perks related to that product. It’s a little different when the campaign is to help launch research – even when it’s research to hopefully put an end to the deadly side of cancer.

But we at Remedy Plan wanted to be able to offer something to show our appreciation for the people who contribute to effort to create Cancer Containment Therapy. So we came up with the idea of perks that help “pay it forward”.

So often, it’s hard to know what to say or do for a friend or loved one who has just been diagnosed or is going through cancer treatment. Since we can’t do much about the cancer itself, we can make sure our loved ones know we are thinking of them as they go through treatment.

That inspired us to create perks you can use to show them you care.

We have teamed up with artist and illustrator Carolyn Sewell, who has created a set of beautiful postcards that you can send to anyone who might need a little encouragement. Sometimes a hand-written card is just the thing a friend might need as they go through the recovery process. And if they are cancer patients, it will mean so much to them to know that you are donating to a company that is trying to make life so much better for them or anyone else who gets diagnosed with cancer.

Other perks we offer that can be sent to show you care are gift baskets for cancer patients produced by Care Company Online. These baskets are different from the stuffed animals and ribbons and mugs that often get sent out – especially during cancer awareness month. Our baskets include things that can be helpful to anyone going through cancer treatment – fuzzy slippers, a cozy blanket or ginger treats to help sooth an upset stomach.

As a former cancer patient, the cards in the mail and the thoughtful gifts which were meant to make my daily life better were the most appreciated. And if you can also show you care so much about your friends or loved ones that you donated money to help a company try to find a cure for cancer – that’s a huge bonus.
